A township board’s primary duties include overseeing the township’s finances, adopting and enforcing ordinances, and managing various services like road maintenance. The board also acts as the policymaker for the township, making decisions on matters like budgets, contracts, and personnel rules. They oversee the collection of property taxes, a crucial revenue source for the township. They ensure proper financial management of township funds, including investments and accounting. The township board adopts ordinances to protect the community’s health, safety, and welfare.
The board of trustees meets every second Monday of each month at 7:30PM. Meetings are held at the township hall, unless otherwise noted.
Individuals with disabilities requiring special assistance who are planning to attend the meeting should contact the Olive Township Clerk for accommodations. This request must be made two (2) business days in advance of the meeting.
